ভরসা কার্ড নিয়ে আপনার কি কোনো প্রশ্ন আছে? You are not alone. Since the BJP government announced the Bharosa Card initiative in West Bengal, thousands of people have been asking the same questions — about eligibility, money, application, documents, and payments.
This article answers the 25 most asked questions about both the Yuva Shakti Bharosa Card and the Matrishakti Bharosa Card — in one place, in simple language.
The Bharosa Card application portal has not launched yet. All questions about “how to apply” are answered based on the expected process. This page will be updated with exact steps and direct portal links once the government officially opens applications.
Section 1 — Basic Questions
1. What is the Bharosa Card?
The Bharosa Card is a government-issued card under the BJP West Bengal government’s welfare initiative. It comes in two versions — the Yuva Shakti Bharosa Card for unemployed youth and the Matrishakti Bharosa Card for women. Both give ₹3,000 per month directly to the beneficiary’s bank account through Direct Bank Transfer (DBT).
2. ভরসা কার্ড কী? (What is Bharosa Card in Bengali?)
3. How much money does the Bharosa Card give per month?
Both the Yuva Shakti Bharosa Card and the Matrishakti Bharosa Card give ₹3,000 per month — তিন হাজার টাকা প্রতি মাসে. That is ₹36,000 per year per beneficiary.
4. Are there two different Bharosa Cards?
Yes. There are two schemes under the Bharosa Card initiative:
• Yuva Shakti Bharosa Card — for unemployed youth aged 18–40
• Matrishakti Bharosa Card — for women aged 18–60
Both give ₹3,000 per month but have different eligibility criteria.
5. Is the Bharosa Card scheme real or fake?
It is real. The Bharosa Card is an official welfare scheme announced by the BJP government of West Bengal as part of their 2026 election manifesto. BJP won the 2026 West Bengal elections and now governs the state. The scheme carries the weight of an official government promise. However, the application portal has not launched yet — do not trust any website claiming to register you right now.
Section 2 — Eligibility Questions
6. Who is eligible for the Yuva Shakti Bharosa Card?
Unemployed youth between 18 and 40 years who are permanent residents of West Bengal are expected to be eligible. You must not hold any government job, private employment, or pension at the time of applying. A family income limit is also expected to apply.
7. Who is eligible for the Matrishakti Bharosa Card?
Women between 18 and 60 years who are permanent residents of West Bengal and do not hold a government job or pension are expected to be eligible. Homemakers — গৃহিণী — are specifically included. A family income limit is also expected.
8. Can a woman apply for both Yuva Shakti and Matrishakti Bharosa Card?
No. A person is expected to be eligible for only one scheme at a time. An unemployed woman aged 18–40 can choose one — but cannot receive both simultaneously.
9. Can a student apply for the Yuva Shakti Bharosa Card?
A student currently enrolled in a full-time course is likely not eligible, as the scheme targets unemployed youth who have finished their studies. However, this will be confirmed in the official notification.
10. Can someone with a private sector job apply?
No. If you are currently employed — in any government or private sector job — you are not eligible. The scheme is specifically for unemployed people. You must submit a self-declaration of unemployment as part of the application.
11. Is there a minimum educational qualification?
No minimum educational qualification is expected. The scheme is open to youth and women of all educational backgrounds — from those who dropped out of school to college graduates.
12. Can people from outside West Bengal apply?
No. Only permanent residents of West Bengal are eligible. You must provide valid domicile proof — such as a West Bengal Aadhaar address, voter ID, or ration card.
Section 3 — Money and Payment Questions
13. How will the ₹3,000 reach me?
The money will be transferred directly to your Aadhaar-linked bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system — সরাসরি ব্যাংক অ্যাকাউন্টে। No cash, no counters, no middlemen. You will receive an SMS on your registered mobile number when each payment is credited.
14. How do I check if my payment has arrived?
You can check your payment through:
• Your bank passbook — look for a DBT credit from the West Bengal government
• Your bank’s mobile app or SMS banking
• Any ATM mini statement
• The PFMS portal at pfms.nic.in using your bank account number
15. What if my payment does not arrive one month?
First check your bank account and PFMS portal. If the payment is missing, raise a grievance on the official portal or visit your local BDO office — অভিযোগ দায়ের করুন। Keep your application reference number handy.
16. Is the ₹3,000 taxable?
Welfare scheme payments from state governments are generally not treated as taxable income for people in lower income brackets. However, if you are in a higher income bracket, consult a tax professional for your specific situation.
Section 4 — Application Questions
17. Has the Bharosa Card application portal launched?
Not yet — এখনও চালু হয়নি। The portal is expected to launch within the first few months of the BJP government taking office. We will update this page and link to the portal directly the moment it goes live.
18. How do I apply for the Bharosa Card?
When the portal launches, the process will be:
1. Visit the official West Bengal government portal
2. Click “New Registration” and enter your Aadhaar number
3. Verify with OTP sent to your registered mobile
4. Fill in the application form with personal and family details
5. Upload required documents
6. Submit and save your Application Reference Number

19. Can I apply offline?
An offline option through Gram Panchayat offices or Block Development Offices (BDO) is expected for applicants without internet access — গ্রামের আবেদনকারীদের জন্য। This is not yet confirmed and will be announced at launch.
20. Is there a fee to apply?
No. The application is completely free. Any person, agent, or website asking for money to register you or process your application is running a scam. Never pay anyone — কাউকে টাকা দেবেন না।
Section 5 — Documents Questions
21. What documents are needed for the Bharosa Card?
The expected documents are:
• Aadhaar Card (with mobile number linked)
• West Bengal domicile proof (voter ID or ration card)
• Bank passbook in your own name (Aadhaar-linked)
• Age proof (Aadhaar or birth certificate)
• Passport-size photograph
• Income certificate (if income limit applies)
• For Yuva Shakti: educational certificate and self-declaration of unemployment

22. My Aadhaar has an old address. Can I still apply?
It is strongly recommended to update your Aadhaar with your current West Bengal address before applying. You can do this at uidai.gov.in or any Aadhaar service centre — free of charge. An outdated address may cause your application to be rejected.
23. Can I use my husband’s or father’s bank account?
No. The bank account must be in your own name and linked to your own Aadhaar. DBT payments are made only to the beneficiary’s personal account. If you do not have a personal account, open a free Jan Dhan account at any nationalised bank.
Section 6 — Status and Other Questions
24. How do I check my Bharosa Card application status?
After the portal launches and you apply, visit the official portal and go to “Track Application” or “আবেদনের অবস্থা জানুন.” Enter your Application Reference Number or Aadhaar number and verify with OTP to see your current status.

25. Will former Yuva Sathi or Lakshmir Bhandar beneficiaries automatically get the Bharosa Card?
No — স্বয়ংক্রিয়ভাবে নয়। These are entirely new schemes under a new government. Previous beneficiaries of Yuva Sathi or Lakshmir Bhandar must apply fresh for the Bharosa Card. However, if you met the eligibility criteria for those older schemes, you are very likely to qualify for the new ones too. Apply as soon as the portal opens.
Multiple fake websites and WhatsApp agents are claiming to register people for the Bharosa Card. Remember:
• The official portal has NOT launched yet
• Registration is always FREE
• Never share your Aadhaar OTP with anyone
• Only use the official West Bengal government website (wb.gov.in domain)
• We will link to the official portal on this page when it is live
